There are no membership vacancies in Cork Toastmasters Club at present. However, there are a number of other excellent clubs in Cork City and vicinity. All of these clubs are accepting new members. To obtain details of these clubs, visit www.toastmasters.org and click on Find.
Even though there are no membership vacancies in Cork Toastmasters Club at present, you are most welcome to attend one of our Club meetings, as a Visitor.
Our meetings take place fortnightly, every second Tuesday. Details of our meetings are as follows:
Venue: Our venue is the Montenotte Hotel (formerly the Country Club Hotel), Montenotte, This is newly extended and refurnished with Leisure Centre and is now a 4 Star.
Dates: March 30 2010 (Meeting on 30 March is being held at a different venue. If you wish to attend, please ring 086 1072365)
April 13, 27
May 11, 25
June 8
The Club then breaks for summer and resumes in September. Autumn dates will be posted on this website.
Time: Meetings commence punctually at 8 p.m. Visitors are asked to be in their seats by 7.50 pm but, if unavoidably delayed, do come anyway. If you are late we suggest you enter the room during applause. The meeting finishes at 10 oclock, at which time we retire to the bar for a friendly chat.
Directions to Montenotte Hotel (formerly Country Club). Drive along McCurtain Street. At the end of McCurtain Street turn left and climb Summerhill North. The first major junction (after 0.4 miles) is St Lukes Cross. Turn right at this cross and the Montenotte Hotel is about 300 metres on your right.
Parking Free parking facilities are provided in the hotel. In the unlikely event that the hotel car park is full, we recommend that you park in Ard-na-Lee housing estate which is almost across the road from the hotel.
Walking If you choose to walk to the hotel, it will take about 12 minutes from McCurtain Street.
Bus Service: The number 8 bus leaves Patrick Street (near the Savoy) at 7.25 pm and stops at St Lukes Cross.
Cost: Members and Visitors each pay 5 per night at the door. This goes towards the cost of hire of the Hotel room and refreshments at half-time.
